College presidents from a variety of institutions have announced curricular changes that include a required 1-credit class in CYA.

“With the increasing numbers of lawsuits against colleges, it really seems like we need an innovative approach to covering our asses,” explained Richard Horowitz, president of Midwestern Engineering Institute.

Topics in the new classes will include

  • See, we told you the drinking age was 21! It’s not our fault if you get hurt.
  • The syllabus you got in writing says, “Don’t keep your doors unlocked or bad things could happen.”
  • Do\’t forget to look at the posters around campus that say “We love diversity.”

“I’m proud to be part of something proactive,” said Priscilla Johnsmart, the Provost from Dayton Academy. “Too many colleges turn a blind eye to the bad things that could happen on their campuses. We’re making sure our students memorize those things – or at least carry them around in their backpacks.”
